Thomas Williamson is an IB and MYP certified member of the KAS English Department. Before joining KAS, he taught English and Latin for 30 years at one of Maine’s top high schools, along with originating and teaching a unique Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course that dual-enrolled qualified high school students at the local community college, where he was also an adjunct faculty member. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he majored in Classics and History. He also holds a MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine and an AAS in Paramedicine from Southern Maine Community College.
Mr. Williamson is also a successful coach. He was twice named soccer “Coach of the Year” in Maine, once by the state coaches’ association and once by the league officials’ organization, for whom he also served as a referee. He has experience coaching swimming and wrestling, as well.
Annette Lang is a certified Media Specialist and Integrated Business Education teacher with a strong emphasis on technology. Ms. Lang has been teaching middle to high school technology courses for over 13 years. A graduate of the University of Akron, majoring in Business Communications she spent the first part of her career in Advertising and was part of the early "dot com" field developing websites in the early 90's. Kent State University opened Ms. Lang's career up to education where she obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching. She began her career teaching programming, web design and video production. Returning to Kent, Ms. Lang achieved a certification in School Library Media Science.
Ms. Lang's passion for teaching developed on the ski slopes where she has been a ski instructor for over 25 years. She has achieved the highest level of ski instruction, level 3, and works as a trainer at her local ski area.
